Mark Webber gives us a virtual preview of the Buddh International Circuit, host of the inaugural Grand Prix of India.
Funny how Webber is the one to spin out, even in the simulation…
Hermann Tilke is the man behind the circuit’s design. I’m not the biggest fan of his tracks; they’re fast but offer little excitement in terms of wheel-to-wheel racing. However Buddh has some interesting elements, like the 215° turn 10. This week Sebastian Vettel said that Buddh should be the second fastest track in the sport.
I suppose I’m less interested in the track and more interested in how the weekend unfolds. I have no doubt that Formula 1 has huge potential in India, there’s already a very large fan base there. I’m interested to see how “complete” Buddh will actually be. Korea’s been around for 2 years and it’s still not finished.
