The Greatest Blog Of All Time?

It’s not really news to anyone that this whole car blog thing has blown out of proportion. I’ve seen blogs come and go with the seasons latest fashions over the years. Most of them are just pages of pictures, no real dialogue because who writes these days? Everyone has an opinion on something and while some opinions are welcome sighs of relief in a dying little industry, we’re all so passionate about, others should remain unheard. This leads me to a blog called DaTruth. Some of you may have heard of it, others like myself may have been loyal readers. But who reads these days anyway?

DaTruth is an insider’s blog. Who the insider is, few know and I’m not one of them. He goes by the name of Damessenjah. Unfortunately their last post was on October 14, 2008 and the blog hasn’t had any activity since. DaTruth was an amazing bit of literature, as good as any book I’ve read (better than some). Damessenjah had an amazing insight into the nitty gritty and all the bullshit that everyone is always too afraid to talk about. It’s a pretty small collective of people this “industry” and everyone talks. That’s probably why few know who Damessenjah really is.

I took the time over the weekend to go back and read every single post on DaTruth. The funny thing is, not much has changed in the last 3 years and most of the posts still reign true today. It’s a shame this blog is no longer in business, maybe Damessenjah ran out of shit to talk about, who knows? I would urge all of you to take a look at this blog and actually read. There aren’t many pictures so it’s not going to be a 30-second scroll fest. Some of what you read may surprise you, some may hit home and sound all too familiar to what you’ve already been reading on your local automotive blog. For me DaTruth is the best blog of them all, it’s hilarious because it’s true. Forget Speedhunters’ corporate malarkey for 5 minutes and check out DaTruth.

  1. I second your claim of it being the best blog of all time. Honest and straight to the point with a lot of humor (intended and unintended).

  2. Da Truth for sure. I’m gonna be frank and say some of it is stating the obvious and just being a tad aggressive to make a point. Depending on how you see it, some you might believe and some might sway your opinion.

What i do know is I will salute whomever the writer is for how frank he speaks about any subject.
