Sometimes you really do forget that things like this can happen without warning. We’re all used to seeing similar images in less developed countries, where buildings and structural engineering haven’t reached a level to withstand nature’s worst. For me, Japan has always represented what’s most modern and orderly in the world and what happened yesterday is simply tragic. I didn’t want to be one of the people to make a big statement about this, the news is doing plenty of that already. But mentioning it was necessary, considering Japan is home to nearly everything A Class represents on a daily basis. My thoughts go out to everyone that’s been affected. Keep your heads up.

The Big Picture has some of the best coverage I’ve found of the aftermath in Japan. The photos give a very good representation of just how bad things are.
